Liam Flanders is one of the head honchos at Tuff Luff Soul Club, Liverpool. Relatively new to the labyrinth like realms of record collecting, yet quite the addict, Liam has been working to bring something fun to his home town for for the last year or so and loves to get people smiling with varied, energetic sets to spark the imagination and get the body moving.

Tuff Love Soul Club as an event has evolved from a Lowrider and sweet Soul centric event into a soulful octopus with tentacles probing into all sorts of genres. Tuff Love strives to curate a schedule of selectors and collectors that sparks the imagination and lengthens the wants list  As a child, Liam was fed a diet of soul music of all genres from day go but naturally moved away from this in his teenage years as he built an ear and a love for hip-hop. Later this musical exploration branched off in many directions and still does so but one common factor roots them all and that is soul music.

As well as the Tuff Love events and The Liverpool Soul Weekender, Liam along with partner in crime Ryan Wilson, broadcasts a monthly radio show on Melodic Distraction Radio. As a way to keep track of what everyone is digging, Tuff Love curates mixes from their favourite DJ’s and collectors worldwide and releases them via their Mixcloud page. Recently, Liam has played at places like the Deep Soul Mecca, Diggin’ Deep (Sheffield), The Flipside & Soulful Strut (Manchester), Feed Your Soul (Newark), The Stockholm Soul Weekender and the Barcelona Beast, Movin’On.
